Piers sweater progress

I'm about half-way done the sweater.  The front side is coming along a little quicker now that I have the pattern almost memorized.  I usually knit for an hour or two while watching mindless television, but hockey season is here and that's probably going to slow my knitting.  It's too bad I don't like baseball.  That would be an easy sport to knit to.

WIP: Piers Sweater

I casted on about two weeks ago and got a lot of knitting done on my trip to and from Powell River last weekend.  Two ferry rides each way can be grueling to some people but to me, time to kill equals valuable knitting time.

Stash Expansion eXhibition

I just got some new yarn in the mail that will go towards a sweater for DH.  It had been so hot lately that I couldn't even think about knitting a winter sweater, but when my yarn arrived, it cooled significantly.  Instant Autumn.  I think it might be sign.  I got 11 balls of Rowan Scottish Tweed in Porridge from ebay and 3 balls each of City Tweed in Tabby and Tahitian Pearl from Knitpicks.

Hopefully I will get this finished by Christmas.

Library addition:Winter Knits Kit

This was on my Amazon wish list for quite some time. (I haven't bought any books for a while). Nate actually found this at Winners for $5.99 so I bought it without a second thought. There are some great little patterns in here. I'm eyeing the lacey fingerless mitts. I'm thinking that after I finish my sweater, I should do some smaller projects to get that gratification that comes with finishing a project. I usually take on bigger projects so I think I'll give smaller projects a try.

WIP: Heart Fair Isle Top

My Friday night well spent.  Hopefully I'll get the sewing done this weekend.  Almost there!

I had some interuptions along the way...

FO: Kimono Sweater

I haven't made anything new in a while so I thought I'd post some oldies.  I found this picture of a sweater I made a few years ago from KnitWit.  It was the first sweater I had ever made.  The gauge is off and it's a little mis-shapened.  I haven't actually worn it in public... haha.  Oh well here it is.

Knitty Technology

Since getting an iPhone a few months ago, I had been searching some knitting apps. I found Knit Buddy and have been using it for the past couple months. I must say, I really like this app. You can keep track of your projects and label them WIP, Finished, or In Queue. You can add multiple row counters and label them rows, increases, decreases, repeats, or stitches. It's also a great app for keeping track of your inventory (needles, hooks and yarn). You can also add photos (by choosing existing photos or by taking them with your iPhone) of your projects and yarn.

Overall, great app. Totally worth the $4.99.
